About Iben
Since we didn't keep any of the four females Ronja got in her
first and only litter, it is incredibly fun now to be able to get
back a grandchild of her. Iben is very special for us. She is
however also the granddaughter of Snorre, and Lotte on the paternal
side. She is thus the first puppy where both parents are bred by us.
Iben seems to have gotten the best of mother and father. We see a
lot of Marius in her, among other things, she has inherited his good
coat. The lovely temperament she has received from both of them -
she is a very kind and happy little girl where the tail goes in one!
And she goes like a bullet with a proud attitude. Will be exciting
to see further developments.
The name Helenas has a special history. She is in fact named after
Helena, who actually saved her when she was born. Our first glimpse
of Iben was a small tip of tail sticking out of the mom ... when
Nikita had been in strong labour for a long while without any of the
puppies came out. When we saw the tip of tail, we realized that we
had to have help. The vet gave Nikita something to stimulate the
labour, but even not the vet was able to get the puppy out. They
made ready for operation, and we feared for the puppy's life,
hanging out without the bag ... But Helena was able to get the puppy
out and she survived against all odds! Iben thus could not be called
anything else. Helena is a variation of the name Helena, it is Greek
and means "the shining".
As a puppy, she has received 2 x BOB, 1 x BOS, and 1 x BIG2. Barely
10 months old she got her first CC and BOB. 10 1/2 months old she
took CC no. 2 and was 2.BB on Rasespesialen in Sandefjord. She was
also BIS3 on the special BIS show which was held right after the
judging.
